About This Spot

Stepping into Kiew Kai Ka at One Nimman feels like uncovering a quiet treasure tucked just off the bustling Chiang Mai streets. The space, modest yet thoughtfully arranged with touches of greenery and natural light, invites a slower rhythm—a moment to settle in and appreciate the dance of flavors quietly building in the kitchen.

This is the kind of place where attentive service doesn’t interrupt but gently guides, a subtle welcome that makes room for the food to take center stage. The hum of conversation blends with the occasional clink of cutlery, creating a cozy atmosphere that still allows each table its own intimate corner of the room.

The menu is a carefully curated journey through Thai tastes that feel both familiar and refined. It’s easy to become absorbed in the layers of each dish, from the richness of a fragrant curry to the bright, spicy crunch of a grilled pork neck salad. Here, every bite is a conversation—between textures, spices, and the simple freshness of local ingredients.

Even on a lively evening, the experience remains welcoming rather than rushed. Diners find themselves lingering, drawn by the balance of flavors and the measured calm that envelops the room. It’s a place to share stories over plates that invite curiosity and encourage returning, again and again, to discover the nuance in classic recipes that have been lovingly reinterpreted.

Kiew Kai Ka rewards those who come with an appetite for genuine moments—a reminder that great food is as much about the company, the setting, and the small, human details as it is about what’s on the plate.

I personally thought this place deserved a better rating… everything we ordered was super! The place albeit small had a nice cozy ambience, and the amount of Michelin ratings and others were insane. Good and friendly service as well. We managed to walk in without any reservations on a Sunday evening.

Kiew Kai Ka in One Nimman, Chiang Mai, is a Michelin-recommended spot serving refined Thai dishes in a stylish, greenery-filled space. I tried the crab curry — rich and flavorful, perfectly balanced with spices. The airy dining room, natural light, and plant accents make it a comfortable place to linger. Service is friendly and attentive, and arriving early or on a weekday helps avoid the busiest times. A bit pricier than nearby eateries, but the quality and atmosphere make it worth every bite.

Nov2025. We decided to come back to One Nimman before we boarded our flight back. The waitress was friendly, smiling all the time. We 3 ordered so much we couldn't believe we could finish all. Simply because the food was great. A special mention as the fried fish and tiger prawn, generous portion and fresh.

Saw the rows of Michelin Bib Gourmand collected the years and we just had to try for ourselves. Ordered almost all of their popular dishes and they were good. My favourite would have to be the grilled pork - it’s so tender and flavourful with the dipping sauce. The restaurant were crowded and we were lucky to get a table for 6 pax after around 5 mins wait at 730pm which is like the usual peak dinner hour.

We happened to walk by Kiew Kai Ka and decided to give it a try, especially after noticing the impressive display of Michelin certificates at the entrance. It immediately gave us the sense that this place is recognized for its quality and reputation, so we were excited to see what it was all about. The menu had a great selection of dishes, and everything we ordered turned out to be very good—flavorful, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. You can tell that a lot of care goes into both the cooking and the overall dining experience. The service was also excellent, with staff who were attentive, polite, and quick to make sure we had everything we needed. While the prices are definitely on the higher side compared to many local restaurants, the quality of the food and the overall experience made it worth trying at least once, especially if you’re already in town and want to experience something a bit more refined. Overall, Kiew Kai Ka is a nice spot for a special meal in Chiang Mai. If you don’t mind spending a little extra for good food, professional service, and a restaurant that carries Michelin recognition, it’s certainly worth the visit.

The grilled pork neck and beef were absolutely bomb with unique Thai-style sauces, one tangy and one spicy, totally legit. The soft shell crab curry had a rich, deep flavor. The green papaya salad had tiny crabs in it, which is traditional, but a bit fishy smell tbh. The steamed curry seafood was mild and nice, the seafood itself was kinda basic, just one shrimp and some squid. The Pad Thai is next-level! So much wok hei, perfectly balanced. And the coconut ice cream is served in a whole coconut, not too sweet, super creamy, recommend! The mango passion drinks were super refreshing and huge. Service was super friendly, the menu is packed with options, and the prices are a steal for a Michelin spot. Definitely give this gem a try:)
